SURAH FAJR
The Dawn
(Maccie, Surah # 89, Verses 30 )
89:1 I swear by the daybreak (Dawn)
89:2 And [by] ten nights
89:3 And [by] the even [number] and the odd
89:4 And [by] the night when it passes (depart)
89:5 Is all this ˹not˺ a sufficient oath for those who have sense?
TRANSGRESSORS
89:6 Did you not see how your Lord dealt with ’Ȃd—
89:7 (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings,
89:8 whose like has never been created in any other land.
89:9 and Thamûd who carved ˹their homes into˺ the rocks in the ˹Stone˺ Valley;
89:10 and the Pharaoh of mighty structures?
89:11 They all transgressed throughout the land,
89:12 and spread much corruption in the land.
89:13 Thus, your Lord afflicted them with torment;
89:14 Indeed, your Lord is watching
MAN IS TESTED BY WEALTH
89:15 As for man, when his Lord tests him by giving him honor and gifts, then he says "My Lord has honored me."
89:16 However, when his Lord tests him by a measured amount of sustenance , he says, "My Lord has humiliated me".
89:17 No! But you do not honor the orphan
89:18 And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.
89:19 And you consume inheritance, devouring (Swallow) [it] altogether,
89:20 And you love wealth with immense love.
WHEN MAN COME TO HIS SENSE
89:21 No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -
89:22 And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,
89:23 On that day, hell will be brought closer and the human being will come to his senses, but this will be of no avail to him.
89:24 He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."
89:25 So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,
89:26 And none will bind [as severely] as His binding
PIOUS MAN
89:27 (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction!
89:28 Return to your Lord well pleased with him and He will be pleased with you.
89:29 And enter among My [righteous] servants
89:30 And enter My Paradise."
SURAH AL BALAD
The City
(Maccie, Surah # 90, Verses 20 )
90:1 I swear by this city [i.e., Makkah]
90:2 And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city -
90:3 And [by] the father (Adam) and that which was born progeny [of him]
90:4 We have created human beings to face a great deal of hardship.
90:5 Does he think that no one has power over him?
90:6 He says (boastfully): "I have wasted wealth in abundance!"
90:7 Does he think that no one has seen him?
90:8 Have We not given him two eyes,
90:9 And a tongue and two lips?
90:10 And showed him the two ways (good and evil)?
WHAT IS A PATH THAT IS STEEP?
90:11 But he has made no effort to pass on the path that is steep.
90:12 And what will make you know the path that is steep?
90:13 It is the freeing of a slave
90:14 Or feeding on a day of severe hunger
90:15 An orphan of near relationship
90:16 Or a needy person in misery
90:17 Then he became one of those who believed, and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.
90:18 These are the people of the right hand.
90:19 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand
90:20 The Fire will be sealed over them.
SURAH ASH-SHAMS
The Sun
(Maccie, Surah # 91, Verses 15)
91:1 By the sun and its brightness,
91:2 By the moon when it follows the sun,
91:3 By the day when it brightens the earth,
91:4 By the night when it covers the earth with darkness,
91:5 And by sky and ˹the One˺ Who built it,
91:6 And [by] the earth and He who spread it
91:7 And [by] the soul and He who made it Perfect
91:8 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him;
91:9 Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul,
91:10 And he will indeed fail whoever corrupts it.
SHE-CAMEL
91:11 The people of Thamud rejected (the truth) as a result of their rebelliousness
91:12 When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel).
91:13 And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink."
9:14 Still they denied him and slaughtered her. So their Lord crushed them for their crime, leveling all (they were all punished collectively) to the ground.
9:15 He (Allah) has no fear of consequences.
SURAH AL-LAYL
The Night
(Maccie, Surah # 92, Verses 21)
92:1 By the night when it covers the day,
92:2 And by the day as it appears in brightness;
92:3 And [by] He who created the male and female,
92:4 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes)
ALLAH WILL MAKE EASE HIS PATH
92:5 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him,
92:6 And believes in the best [reward],
92:7 We will make smooth for him the path of ease
ALLAH WILL MAKE EASE THE PATH OF EVIL FOR THOSE WHO:
92:8 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient .
92:9 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God).
92:10 We will make smooth for him the path for evil;
92:11 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction.
ALLAH SHOWS THE WAY TO GUIDANCE
92:12 It is certainly upon Us ˹alone˺ to show ˹the way to˺ guidance.
92:13 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].
ALLAH HAS WARNED
92:14 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire
92:15 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one.
92:16 Who had denied and turned away.
TO PLEASE ALLAH ONLY
92:17 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,
92:18 who donate ˹some of˺ their wealth only to purify themselves,
92:19 And have in his mind no favor from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,
92:20 But only seeking the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High.
92:21 They will certainly be pleased.
