SURAH AT-TUR

The Mountain

(Maccie, Surah # 52, Verses 49 )

ALLAH SWEARS BY:

52:1 I swear by the Mountain,

52:2 By the book written

52:3 On open pages ˹for all to read˺!

52:4 And by the ˹Sacred˺ House frequently visited!(continuously visited by the angels)

52:5 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven).

52:6 And by the seas set on fire!

52:7 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will surely take place

52:8 And no one will be able to prevent it.

WOE TO THE DENIERS

52:9 On the Day the heavens will be shaken violently,

52:10 And the mountains will be blown away entirely.

52:11 Then woe on that Day to the deniers

52:12 Those who amuse themselves with falsehood!

52:13 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing.

52:14˹They will be told,˺ “This is the Fire which you used to deny.

52:15 Is this magic, or do you not see?

52:16 Burn in it! It is the same whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only rewarded for what you used to do.”

RIGHTEOUS ONES

52:17 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,

52:18 Enjoying whatever their Lord will have granted them. And their Lord will have protected them from the torment of the Hellfire.

52:19˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink happily for what you used to do.”

52:20 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Hoors (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.

BELIEVER’S OFFSPRING WILL JOIN THEM 

52:21 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.

BELIEVER'S REWARD

52:22 And We will ˹continually˺ provide them with whatever fruit or meat they desire.

52:23 They will pass around to each other a drink ˹of pure wine,˺ which leads to no idle talk or sinfulness.

52:24 They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls.

52:25 They will turn to one another ask questions,

52:26 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].

52:27 But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire.

52:28 Indeed, we used to call upon Him ˹alone˺ before. He is truly the Most Kind, Most Merciful.”

PRODUCE SOMETHING LIKE QURAN IF YOU ARE TRUE

52:29(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a fortune-teller or a madman.

52:30 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?"

52:31 Say, “Keep waiting! I too am waiting with you.”

52:32 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you] or are they transgressing people?

52:33 Or do they say, “He made this ˹Quran˺ up!”? In fact, they have no faith.

52:34 Let them then produce something like it, if what they say is true!

52:35 Or were they created by nothing, or are they ˹their own˺ creators?

O’ PROPHET ASK THE DENIERS IF THEY DO HAVE?

52:36 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no firm belief ˹in Allah˺

52:37 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord?or are they in control ˹of everything˺?

52:38 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels)Then let their listener produce some manifest proof.

52:39 Or does He have daughters ˹as you claim˺, while you ˹prefer to˺ have sons?

52:40 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching) so that they are burdened with a load of debt?

52:41 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

52:42 Or do they intend to scheme ˹against the Prophet˺? Then it is the disbelievers who will fall victim to ˹their˺ schemes.

52:43 Or do they have a god other than Allah? Glorified is Allah far above what they associate ˹with Him

52:44 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only a dense cloud".

52:45 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror

52:46 The Day their scheming will be of no benefit to them whatsoever, nor will they be helped.

TORMENT OF THE GRAVE

52:47 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in their graves) before this, but most of them know not.

52:48 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes , and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep.

52:49 And glorify Him during part of the night and at the fading of the stars.
