SURAH AL-MUNAFIQUN
The Hypocrites
(Madnie, Surah # 63, Verses 11 )
HYPOCRITES
63:1 When the hypocrites come to you, [O Muhammad], they say, "We testify that you are the Messenger of Allah." And Allah knows that you are His Messenger, and Allah testifies that the hypocrites are liars.
63:2 They have taken their oaths as a cover, so they avert [people] from the way of Allah. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.
63:3 That is because they believed, and then they disbelieved; so their hearts were sealed over, and they do not understand.
63:4 Their physical appearance attracts you when you see them and when they speak, you carefully listen to them. In fact, they are like propped up hollow trunks of wood (They are so cowardly) they think that every cry which they hear is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path.
63:5 And when it is said to them: "Come, so that the Messenger of Allah may ask forgiveness from Allah for you", they turn aside their heads, and you would see them turning away their faces in pride.
63:6 It is all the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them; never will Allah forgive them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.
63:7 They are the ones who say, "Do not spend on those who are with the Messenger of Allah until they disband."And to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
63:8 They (hypocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honorable ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hypocrites at AlMadinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's Messenger)." But honor, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.
YOUR CHILDREN AND WEALTH IS A TEST
63:9 O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.
SPEND BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE
63:10 And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: "My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat) of my wealth , and be among the righteous.
63:11 And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
