SURAH FATIR
The Creator
(Maccie, Surah # 35, Verses 45)
ALLAH’S MESSENGERS AMONG ANGELS
35:1 All praise is for Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who made angels ˹as His˺ messengers with wings—two, three, or four. He increases in creation whatever He wills. Surely Allah is Most Capable of everything.
35:2 Whatever Allah grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
35:3 O’ humanity! Remember Allah’s favors upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides sustenance for you from the heavens and the earth? There is no God ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺?
35:4 If they reject you, other Messengers had certainly been rejected before you. All decisions are in the hands of God.
SHAITAN
35:5 O humanity! Indeed, Allah’s promise is true. So do not let the life of this world deceive you, nor let the Chief Deceiver (Shaitan)deceive you about Allah.
35:6 Surely, Shaitan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
35:7 Those who disbelieve will have a severe punishment. But those who believe and do good will have forgiveness and a great reward.
35:8 There is one to whom the evil of his deed has been made attractive so he considers it good [like one rightly guided]? For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So do not grieve yourself to death over them ˹O Prophet˺. Surely Allah is All-Knowing of what they do.
35:9 And it is Allah Who sends the winds, which then stir up ˹vapor, forming˺ clouds, and then We drive them to a lifeless land, giving life to the earth after its death. Similar is the Resurrection.
35:10 Whoever seeks honor should know that all honor belongs to Allah. Good words (worship) will be presented before Him and He will accept good deeds. Those who make evil plans will suffer intense torment. Their evil plans are doomed to destruction.
35:11 And ˹it is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ created you from dust, then ˹developed you˺ from a sperm-drop, then made you into pairs. No female ever conceived or delivers without His knowledge. And no one’s life is made long or cut short but is ˹written˺ in a Record. That is certainly easy for Allah.
35:12The two oceans, one sweet and the other salty, are not alike. From each you can eat fresh meat (fish) and obtain ornaments to use. You see ships plowing their way through them so that you may seek His favor and give Him thanks.
35:13 He merges the night into the day and the day into the night, and has subjected the sun and the moon, each orbiting for an appointed term. That is Allah—your Lord! All authority belongs to Him. But those ˹idols˺ you invoke besides Him do not possess even the skin of a date stone.
35:14 If you call upon them, they cannot hear your calls. And if they were to hear, they could not respond to you. On the Day of Judgment they will disown your worship ˹of them˺. And no one can inform you ˹O Prophet˺ like the All-Knowledgeable.
35:15 O humanity! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah ˹alone˺ is the Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
35:16 If He willed, He could eliminate you and produce a new creation.
35:17 And that is not difficult for Allah ˹at all˺.
35:18 No one will bear the burden of another. Even if an overburdened soul should ask another to bear a part of his burden, no one, not even a relative, will do so. (Muhammad), you can only warn those who have fear of their Lord without seeing Him and who are steadfast in prayer. Whoever purifies himself, does so for his own good. To God do all things return.
35:19 Those blind ˹to the truth˺ and those who can see are not equal,
35:20 Nor are the darkness and the light,
35:21 Nor the ˹scorching˺ heat and the ˹cool˺ shade
35:22 Nor are the dead and the living equal. Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ makes whoever He wills hear, but you ˹O Prophet˺ can never make those in the graves hear ˹your call˺.
35:23 You are only a warner.
35:24We have surely sent you with the truth as a deliverer of good news and a warner. There is no community that has not had a warner.
35:25 If they reject you, (know that) others who lived before them had also rejected their Messengers, Messengers who had brought them miracles, scriptures, and the enlightening Book
35:26 Then I took hold of those who disbelieved, and how terrible was My denial (punishment)!
35:27 Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky with which We bring forth fruits of different colors? And in the mountains are streaks of varying shades of white, red, and raven black;
35:28 He has also created people, living beings, and cattle of various colors. It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah. Verily, Allah is AllMighty, OftForgiving.
35:29Verily, those who recite the Book of Allah (this Quran), and perform AsSalat , and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a (sure) tradegain that will never perish.
35:30 so that He will reward them in full and increase them out of His grace. He is truly All-Forgiving, Most Appreciative.
35:31 The Book We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ is the truth, confirming what came before it. Surely Allah is All-Aware, All-Seeing of His servants.
35:32 We gave the Book as an inheritance to Our chosen servants, among whom some are unjust against their souls, some are moderate, and some are exceedingly virtuous by the permission of God. This is indeed a great favor.
PEOPLE OF PARADISE
35:33 They will enter the Gardens of Eternity, where they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their clothing will be silk.
35:34 And they will say,
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلْحَزَنَ ۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌۭ شَكُورٌ
“Praise be to Allah, Who has kept away from us all ˹causes of˺ sorrow. Our Lord is indeed All-Forgiving, Most Appreciative.
35:35˹He is the One˺ Who—out of His grace—has settled us in the Home of Everlasting Stay, where we will be touched by neither fatigue nor weariness.”
PEOPLE OF HELL
35:36 As for the disbelievers, they will have the Fire of Hell, where they will not be ˹allowed to be˺ finished by death, nor will its torment be lightened for them. This is how We reward every ˹stubborn˺ disbeliever.
35:37 Therein they will cry-out, "Lord, take us out of here. We shall act righteously and behave differently to what we did before." They will be told, "Did We not allow you to live long enough for you to seek guidance? Did We not send a warner to you? Suffer (the torment). There is no one to help the unjust."
35:38 Indeed, Allah is the Knower of the unseen of the heavens and the earth. He surely knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart.
35:39 He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth, so whosoever disbelieves on him will be his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but hatred with their Lord. And the disbelief of the disbelievers adds nothing but loss.
35:40(Muhammad), ask them, "Think about the idols which you worship besides God. Show me what part of the earth they have created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Has God sent them a Book to confirm their authority? In fact, whatever the unjust promise each other is nothing but deceit."
35:41Indeed, Allah ˹alone˺ keeps the heavens and the earth from falling apart. If they were to fall apart, none but Him could hold them up. He is truly Most Forbearing, All-Forgiving.
35:42They swore by Allah their most solemn oaths that if a warner were to come to them, they would certainly be better guided than any other community. Yet when a warner (Muhammad) did come to them, it only drove them farther away—
35:43 behaving arrogantly in the land and plotting evil. But evil plotting only backfires on those who plot. Are they awaiting anything but the fate of those ˹destroyed˺ before? You will find no change in the way of Allah, nor will you find it diverted ˹to someone else˺.
35:44 Have they not traveled throughout the land to see what was the end of those ˹destroyed˺ before them? They were far superior in might. But there is nothing that can escape Allah in the heavens or the earth. He is certainly All-Knowing, Most Capable.
35:45 If Allah were to punish people ˹immediately˺ for what they have committed, He would not have left a single living being on earth. But He delays them for an appointed term. And when their time arrives, then surely Allah is All-Seeing of His servants.
