SURAH AL- MUZAMMIL
The One Wrapped in Garments
(Maccie, Surah # 73, Verses 20)
73:1 O you wrapped in garments (Prophet Muhammad)
73:2 Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
73:3 Half of it, or a little less than that,
73:4 Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow style
73:5 Indeed, We will reveal upon you a heavy words
73:6 Indeed, worship in the night is more impactful and suitable for recitation.
73:7 During the day, you are preoccupied with many activities.
73:8 And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion.
73:9 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, none has the right to be worshiped but He. So take Him Alone as Wakil.
73:10 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way.
73:11 And leave Me Alone to deal with the beliers (those who deny My Verses, etc.), and those who are in possession of good things of life and bear with them for a little while.
73:12 Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire
73:13 And food that chokes and a painful punishment
73:14 on the Day the earth and mountains will shake ˹violently˺, and mountains will be ˹reduced to˺ dunes of shifting sand.
73:15 Verily, We have sent to you (O men) a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger [Musa] to Fir'aun.
73:16 But Fir'aun disobeyed the Messenger [Musa], so We seized him with a severe punishment.
73:17 Then how can you avoid the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children grey-headed (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?
73:18 It will ˹even˺ cause the sky to split apart. His promise ˹of judgment˺ must be fulfilled.
73:19 This is a reminder. Let anyone who wants, seek guidance from his Lord.
73:20 Your Lord knows that you and a group of those who are with you get up for prayer sometimes for less than two-thirds of the night, sometimes half and sometimes one-third of it. Allah determines the duration of the night and day. He knew that it would be hard for you to keep an exact account of the timing of the night prayers, so He turned to you with forgiveness. Thus, recite from the Quran as much as possible. He knew that some of you would be sick, others would travel in the land to seek Allah's favors, and still others would fight for the cause of Allah. Thus, recite from the Quran as much as possible, be steadfast in prayer, pay the zakat , and give virtuous loans to Allah. Whatever good deeds you save for the next life, you will certainly find them with Allah. This is the best investment, and for this you will find the greatest reward. Ask forgiveness from Allah. Allah is All-forgiving and All-merciful.
