SURAH ABASA
He Frowned
(Maccie, Surah # 80, Verses 42)
BLIND MAN MIGHT WANTED TO PURIFY HIMSELF
80:1 The Prophet frowned and turned away
80:2 Because there came to him the blind man(interrupting)
80:3 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself,
80:4 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him.
80:5 As for him(other people) who thinks himself self-sufficient
80:6 To him you give attention.
80:7 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself
80:8 But as for the one who came to you, eager ˹to learn˺,
80:9 While he fears [Allah],
80:10 You ignore him.
80:11 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder;
80:12 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so.
80:13(This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).
80:14 Exalted and purified,
HUMAN HAS NOT DONE WHAT WE COMMANDED HIM
80:15 By the hands of scribes (angels).
80:16 Noble and dutiful.
80:17 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!
80:18 From what substance did He create him?
80:19 He created him from a sperm-drop and He determined his fate
80:20 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow.
80:21 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave;
80:22 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants.
80:23 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.
HOW ALLAH PRODUCE SUSTENANCE FROM EARTH
80:24 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food.
80:25 How We pour down rain in abundance
80:26 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts],
80:27 Causing grain to grow in it,
80:28 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),
80:29 And olive and date- palm
80:30 thickly planted gardens,
80:31 And fruit and grass -
80:32 All as ˹a means of˺ sustenance for you and your animals.
SCENE ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
80:33 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah ( trumpet sound)
80:34 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother,
80:35 And from his mother and his father,
80:36 And from his wife and his children.
80:37 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others).
80:38 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright -
80:39 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise).
80:40 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust,
80:41 Darkness will cover them,
80:42 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones.
