SURAH BURUJ

The Big Star

(Maccie, Surah # 85, Verses 22 )

85:1 By the sky containing great stars

85:2 And [by] the promised Day

85:3 And [by] the witness and what is witnessed

PEOPLE OF THE DITCH

85:4 May the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches

85:5 [Containing] the fire full of fuel,

85:6 When they were sitting near it (fire)

85:7 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.

85:8 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise!

85:9 ˹the One˺ to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is a Witness over all things.

85:10 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire.

85:11 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is a great success.

85:12 Verily, the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe.

85:13 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return.

85:14 He is the All-forgiving, the Most Loving One,

85:15 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One,

85:16 and the Most Effective in His decision.

85:17 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies

85:18 of the Pharaoh and Thamud?

85:19 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations).

85:20 While Allah surrounded them from behind.

85:21  What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran

85:22 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)!

SURAH TARIQ

The Night Comer

(Maccie, Surah # 86, Verses 17 )

86:1 By the heaven, and At-Tariq (bright star);

86:2 And what will make you know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is?

86:3 (It is) the star of piercing brightness

86:4 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds).

86:5 Let people then consider what they were created from!

86:6 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid

86:7  Which comes out from between the back-bone and the ribs,

86:8 Surely He(Allah) is fully capable of bringing them back ˹to life˺

86:9 On the day when all secrets will be made public,

86:10 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper.

86:11 By the sky which returns [rain]

86:12 And [by] the earth which cracks open,

86:13 the Quran is the final word,

86:14 and it is not amusement (to be taken lightly)

86:15 Indeed, they (disbeliever) are planning a plan,

86:16 But I (Allah) am planning a plan.

86:17  So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.

SURAH ALA

The Most High

(Maccie, Surah # 87, Verses 19 )

87:1 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,

87:2 Who has created (all things) proportionately

87:3 And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal),

87:4 It is He who has caused the green grass to grow

87:5 Then makes it dried up, dust-colored

RECITE & REMIND WITH THE QURAN O’MUHAMMAD

87:6 We will have you recite ˹the Quran, O  Prophet,˺ so you will not forget ˹any of it˺,

87:7 unless Allah wills otherwise. He surely knows what is open and what is hidden.

87:8 We shall make all your tasks easy.

87:9 So ˹always˺ remind ˹with the Quran˺—˹even˺ if the reminder is beneficial ˹only to some.

87:10 He who fears [Allah] will be reminded.

87:11 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it,

DISBELIEVERS

87:12 Who will burn in the greatest Fire,

87:13 Wherein he will neither die nor live.

BELIEVERS

87:14 He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

87:15 And remember the name of the Lord, and pray to Him.

LIFE HEREAFTER IS BETTER THAN WORLDLY LIFE

87:16 However, (the disbelievers) prefer the worldly life

87:17 Even though the life hereafter will be better and will last forever.

87:18 This is what is written in the former scripture.

SURAH AL GHASHIYA

The Overwhelming

(Maccie, Surah # 88, Verses 26 )

88:1 Have you heard the news of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)?

DISBELIEVERS

88:2 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humiliated

88:3 Working [hard] and exhausted.

88:4 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire,

88:5 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring,

88:6  No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant,

88:7 neither nourishing nor satisfying hunger.

BELIEVERS

88:8 On that Day ˹other˺ faces will be joyful

88:9 With their effort [they are] satisfied

88:10 In an elevated garden,

88:11 Where they will not hear any vain (unsuitable) talk

88:12  In it will be a running spring,

88:13 Within it are couches raised high

88:14 And drinking-cups ready placed,

88:15 And cushions lined up

88:16 And carpets spread around.

LOOK HOW ALLAH HAS CREATED THESE

88:17 Have they not looked at how the camel is created,

88:18 And at the sky - how it is raised?

88:19 and the mountains—how they were firmly set up;

88:20 And at the earth, how it is spread out?

MUHAMMAD IS ONLY A REMINDER

88:21 So remind, [O Muḥammad]; you are only a reminder.

88:22  You do not have full control over them.

88:23 However, those who turn away and disbelieve,

88:24 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment.

88:25 Verily, to Us will be their return;

88:26 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account.
