SURAH TAKWIR

The Overthrowing

(Maccie, Surah # 81, Verses 29 )

DAY OF JUDGMENT

81:1 When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]

81:2 And when the stars fall, dispersing,

81:3 And when the mountains are removed

81:4 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected

81:5 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together

81:6 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire

81:7 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies

81:8 And when the female (infant) buried alive shall be questioned.

81:9  For what sin she was killed?

81:10 And when the records of deeds are made public,

81:11 And when the sky is torn away

81:12 And when Hellfire is set ablaze

81:13 And when Paradise is brought near

81:14 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds.

81:15 So I swear by the retreating stars 

81:16 Those that run [their courses] and disappear 

81:17 And by the night as it departs

81:18 And the morning when it brightens

81:19 Indeed, this ˹Quran˺ is the Word of ˹Allah delivered by Gabriel,˺ a noble messenger-angel,

81:20 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne

81:21 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust.

81:22 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman;

81:23 And indeed he saw him [Jibrael] in the clear horizon (towards the east).

81:24 And he withholds not a knowledge of the unseen.

81:25 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the cursed Shaitan 

81:26 So what ˹other˺ path would you take?

81:27 Surely this ˹Quran˺ is only a reminder to the whole world

81:28 to whoever of you, wills to take the Straight Way.

81:29 But you cannot will ˹to do so˺, except by the Will of Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

SURAH INFITAR

The Cleaving

(Maccie, Surah # 82, Verses 19 )

82:1 When the sky splits open,

82:2 And when the stars have fallen and scattered;

82:3 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up);

82:4 and the graves are turned inside out,

82:5 then˺ each soul will know what it has sent forth or left behind.

82:6 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

82:7 Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,

82:8 Molding you in whatever form He willed?

82:9 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment,

KIRAMAN KATIBIN

82:10 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,-

82:11 Kiraman (honorable) Katibin writing down (your deeds) 

82:12 They know whatever you do.

82:13 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in pleasure

82:14 And verily, the Fujjar (disbelievers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell),

82:15 In which they will enter on the Day of Judgment

82:16 and they will have no escape from it.

82:17 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is?

82:18 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment Is?

82:19 It is˺ the Day no soul will be of ˹any˺ benefit to another soul whatsoever, for all authority on that Day belongs to Allah ˹entirely˺.

SURAH MUTAFFIFIN

Those who Deal in Fraud

(Maccie, Surah # 83, Verses 36 )

83:1 Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [Defrauders],

FULL OR LESS IN MEASURE

83:2 Those who take full measure ˹when they buy˺ from people,

83:3 But give less when they measure or weigh for buyers.

83:4 Do such people not think that they will be resurrected

83:5 For a tremendous Day -

83:6 When mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe?

SIJJEEN

83:7 No! Indeed, the record of the Fujjar (disbelievers) is in sijjeen.

83:8 and what will make you realize what Sijjîn is?

83:9 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records).

83:10 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected Allah's revelations

83:11 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment.

83:12 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors

83:13 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!"

83:14 But no! In fact, their hearts have been stained by all ˹the evil˺ they used to commit!

83:15 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord.

83:16 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell.

83:17 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!"

ILLIYYUN

83:18  No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun.

83:19 and what will make you realize what ’Illiyûn is?

83:20 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records).

83:21 The ones nearest to Allah (Angels) will bring it to the public.

83:22 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in pleasure

83:23 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them).

83:24 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure.

83:25 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed.

83:26 The last of it (sip) will smell like musk. So for this let the competitors compete.

83:27 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim,

83:28 A spring from which those nearest ˹to Allah˺ will drink.

83:29 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

83:30 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery);

83:31 And, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done.

83:32 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray".

83:33 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers.

83:34 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers

83:35 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things).

83:36 ˹The believers will be asked,˺ “Have the disbelievers ˹not˺ been paid back for what they used to do?”

SURAH INSHIQAQ

 The Splitting Asunder

(Maccie, Surah # 84, Verses 25 )

84:1 When the sky bursts open,

84:2 in obedience to the commands of their Lord and was obligated [to do so]

84:3 And when the earth is flattened out,

84:4 and ejects ˹all˺ its contents and becomes empty,

84:5 in obedience to the commands of its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -

84:6 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure return, so you will meet.

GIVEN RECORDS IN RIGHT HAND

84:7 As for those who are given their record in their right hand,

84:8 He will be judged with an easy account

84:9 And will return to his family in joyfully

GIVEN RECORDS IN LEFT HAND

84:10 And as for those who are given their record ˹in their left hand˺ from behind their backs,

84:11 He will cry out for destruction

84:12 And [enter to] burn in a Blazing Fire.

84:13 Verily, he was among his people in joy!

84:14 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].

84:15 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do).

84:16 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset;

84:17 or by the night in which things all come together to rest,

84:18 And [by] the moon when it becomes full

84:19 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter).

84:20 So what is the matter with them that they do not believe,

84:21 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]?

84:22 In fact, they reject the Quran,

84:23 But Allah knows best whatever they hide.

84:24 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment

84:25 But those who believe and do good will have a never-ending reward.
