SURAH AT TAKATHUR
The Piling Up
(Maccie, Surah # 102, Verses 8 )
102:1 Competition for more ˹Gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺,
102:2 Until you end up in ˹your˺ graves.
102:3 But no! You will soon come to know.
102:4 Again, no! You will soon come to know.
102:5 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things)
102:6 Surely, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)!
102:7 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
102:8 Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about ˹your worldly˺ pleasures.
SURAH AL-ASAR
Time
(Maccie, Surah # 103, Verses 3 )
103:1 I swear by the time,
103:2 Indeed, mankind is in loss,
103:3 Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds , and recommend one another to patience.
SURAH AL-HUMAZAH
The Slanderer
(Maccie, Surah # 104, Verses 9 )
104:1 Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.
104:2 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.
104:3 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal (live forever).
104:4 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire.
104:5 And what will make you realize what the crushing Fire is?
104:6 It is the fire of Allah , [eternally] fueled,
104:7 Which rages over the hearts.
104:8 Indeed, Hellfire will be sealed down upon them
104:9 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.).
SURAH AL-FIL
The Elephant
(Maccie, Surah # 105, Verses 5 )
105:1 Have you not seen ˹O Prophet˺ how your Lord dealt with the Army of the Elephant?
105:2 Did He not cause their evil plan to fail
105:3 For He sent against them flocks of birds,
105:4 Striking them with stones of hard clay,
105:5 Leaving them like chewed up straw.
SURAH AL-QURAISH
Quraish
(Maccie, Surah # 106, Verses 4 )
106:1 For the protection of the Quraish-
106:2 Their protection during their trading caravans in the winter and the summer-
106:3 So let them worship the Lord of this House
106:4 (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear.
SURAH AL-MAUN
Small Kindnesses
(Maccie, Surah # 107, Verses 7 )
107:1 Have you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment?
107:2 That is the one who drives away the orphan
107:3 and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
107:4 So woe to those (hypocrites) who pray
107:5 Who are neglectful of their prayers (i.e delay)
107:6 Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men)
107:7 and refuse to help the needy
SURAH AL-KAUTHAR
A River in Paradise
(Maccie, Surah # 108, Verses 3 )
108:1 Indeed, We have granted you, [O Muhammad], al-Kawthar.
108:2 So pray to your Lord and sacrifice [to Him alone].
108:3 Only the one who hates you is truly cut off ˹from any goodness˺.
