SURAH AL WAQIYAH

That Which is Coming

(Maccie, Surah # 56, Verses 96 )

DAY OF RESURRECTION

56:1 When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) occurs

56:2 And there can be no denying of its occurrence

56:3 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].

56:4 When the earth is violently shaken

56:5 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling

56:6 So that they will become floating dust particles.

THERE WILL BE THREE GROUPS IN PARADISE

56:7 you will ˹all˺ be ˹divided into˺ three groups

56:8 So those on the Right Hand , Who will be those on the Right Hand?

56:9 And those on the Left Hand , Who will be those on the Left Hand?

FIRST GROUP   أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ (Many from the ancient & Few from the later generation)

56:10 and the foremost ˹in faith˺ will be the foremost ˹in Paradise˺.

56:11 They are the ones nearest ˹to Allah˺,

56:12 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise).

56:13 Many of them will be from the ancient people

56:14 and a few from later generations.

56:15(They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones,

56:16 Reclining on them, facing each other.

56:17 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal

56:18 with cups, pitchers, and a drink ˹of pure wine˺ from a flowing stream

56:19 that will cause them neither headache nor intoxication.

56:20 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice

56:21 And meat from any bird they desire.

56:22 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes,

56:23 The likenesses of pearls well-protected,

56:24 As reward for what they used to do.

56:25 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk

56:26 Only a saying: "Peace, peace."

SECOND GROUP    أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ (Many from the ancient & many from the later generation)

56:27 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?

56:28 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees,

56:29 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]

56:30 And extended shade,

56:31 By water flowing constantly,

56:32 And fruit in plenty,

56:33 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off,

56:34 And on couches or thrones, raised high.

56:35 Indeed, We will have perfectly created their mates

56:36 And made them virgins.

56:37 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age.

56:38 For those on the Right Hand.

56:39 These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient

56:40 and many from the later generations.

THIRD GROUP     أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ

56:41 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand?

56:42˹They will be˺ in scorching heat and boiling water,

56:43 And shadow of black smoke,

56:44 (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good,

56:45 Verily, before that, they indulge in luxury,

56:46 And were persisting in great sin

56:47 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?

56:48 Will our ancient forefathers be resurrected too?

56:49 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later generation.

56:50"All will surely be gathered together for the appointed Meeting of a known Day.

56:51 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth

56:52 Will be eating from trees of zaqqum

56:53 filling up ˹your˺ bellies with it.

56:54 "And drink boiling water on top of it,

56:55 So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!"

56:56 This will be their accommodation on the Day of Judgment.

ALLAH CREATED HUMANS THE FIRST TIME

56:57 We have created you, so why do you not believe?

56:58 Have you seen that which you emit?(sperm)

56:59 Is it you who create ˹a child out of˺ it, or is it We Who do so?

56:60 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable,

ALLAH WILL RECREATE HUMANS IN THE FORM UNKNOWN TO US

56:61 from transforming and recreating you in forms unknown to you.

56:62 You already know how you were first created. Will you not then be mindful?

ALLAH GROW PLANTS

56:63 Have you seen what you sow?

56:64 Is it you who cause it to grow, or is it We Who do so?

56:65 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful

56:66“We have truly suffered a ˹great˺ loss.

56:67"Nay, but we are deprived!"

ALLAH BRINGS THE WATER DOWN 

56:68 Have you seen the water which you drink?

56:69 Is it you who bring it down from the clouds, or is it We Who do so?

56:70 If We willed, We could make it salty. Will you not then give thanks?

ALLAH CREATED FIRE

56:71 Have you seen the fire which you kindle?

ALLAH PRODUCE  TREES

56:72 Is it you who produce its trees, or is it We Who do so?

56:73 We have made it ˹as˺ a reminder ˹of the Hellfire˺ and a provision for the travelers.

DO NOT TAKE THE MESSAGE OF QURAN LIGHTLY 

56:74 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.

56:75 Then I swear by the setting of the stars,

56:76 And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.

56:77 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an

56:78 In a Book well-guarded (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

56:79 None touch it except the purified.

56:80 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

56:81 How can you then take this message lightly,

GIVE THANKS FOR THE SUSTENANCE

56:82 Would you reject the sustenance that you receive rather than give thanks?

TIME OF DEATH 

56:83 Why then ˹are you helpless˺ when the soul ˹of a dying person˺ reaches ˹their˺ throat,

56:84 And you at the moment are looking on,

56:85 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see -

56:86 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.)

56:87 bring that soul back, if what you say is true.

DEATH FOR A BELIEVER-RIGHT HAND

56:88 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah),

56:89 (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise).

56:90 And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,

56:91 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for those on the Right Hand.

DEATH FOR A DISBELIEVER-LEFT HAND

56:92 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray,

56:93 then their accommodation will be boiling water ˹to drink˺

56:94 And burning in Hell-fire.

56:95 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty.

56:96 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
