SURAH AL- MUDATHIR
The One Enveloped
(Maccie, Surah # 74, Verses 56)
74:1 O you who covers himself [with a garment],
74:2 stand up, deliver your warning
74:3 And your Lord (Allah) magnify!
74:4 And your garments purify!
74:5 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)!
74:6 Do not do a favor expecting more ˹in return˺
74:7 And be patient for the sake of your Lord
74:8 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded
74:9 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day.
74:10 For the disbelievers - not easy.
74:11 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone
74:12 and whom I have granted abundant wealth
74:13 And children to be by his side!
74:14 And made life smooth and comfortable for him!
74:15 After all that he desires that I should give more;
74:16 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat
74:17 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief.
74:18 Verily, he thought and plotted;
74:19 So let him be cursed! How he plotted!
74:20 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted!
74:21 Then he considered [again];
74:22 Then he frowned and scowled;
74:23 Then he turned back and was proud;
74:24 Then he said: "This(Quran) is nothing but magic from ancient;
74:25 This is nothing but the word of a human being!"
74:26 I will cast him into Hell-fire
74:27 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is?
74:28 It does not let anyone live or die,
74:29 It scorches people's skin
74:30 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell).
74:31 We have made only angels as the keepers of the fire. And we have fixed their numbers of these angles as a trial for the disbelievers. It gives more certainty to the people of the Book and strengthens the faith of the believers. The people of the Book and the believers have no doubt about it. We have fixed the number to make the disbelievers and those whose hearts are sick say, "“What does Allah mean by such a number?" Thus Allah leads astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He. And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind.
74:32 Nay; I swear by the moon,
74:33 And [by] the night when it departs
74:34 And [by] the morning when it brightens
74:35 Hell is certainly the greatest calamity.
74:36 A warning to mankind
74:37 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind (to embrace the faith)
74:38 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained(held responsible)
74:39 Except the companions of the right,
74:40 [Who will be] in Gardens, questioning one another
74:41 About Al-Mujrimun
PEOPLE WHO ENTER HELL FIRE?
74:42 What has caused you to enter Hell?
74:43 They will reply, “We were not of those who prayed,
74:44 Nor did we feed the poor.
74:45 We used to indulge ˹in falsehood˺ along with others,
74:46 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment
74:47 Until death approached us"
74:48 So the pleas of intercessors will be of no benefit to them.
74:49 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance
74:50 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys.
74:51 running away from a lion?
74:52 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally?
74:53 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter
74:54 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is a guide (reminder)
74:55 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so.
74:56 But they cannot do so unless Allah wills. He ˹alone˺ is worthy to be feared and entitled to forgive.
