SURAH JINN
Jinn
(Maccie, Surah # 72, Verses 28)
JINN BELIEVED IN QURAN
72:1 Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an.
72:2 which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord;
72:3 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son.
72:4 And that the foolish among us [Iblis] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right.
72:5 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie.
72:6'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn.
72:7'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns).
JINS CANNOT GO NEAR HEAVENS
72:8 We (Jinns)went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames.
72:9 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.
72:10'And we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path.
SOME JINS BELIEVE AND SOME NOT
72:11 There are among us some that are righteous, and some are not; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.).
72:12 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah on the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight.
72:13 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Qur'an), we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins.
72:14 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim has followed the right guidance.
72:15 But as for the unjust, they will be fuel for Hell.
72:16 And [Allah revealed] that if they(jinn and mankind) had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision
72:17 as a test for them. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of their Lord will be admitted by Him into an overwhelming punishment.
72:18 The places of worship are ˹only˺ for Allah, so do not invoke anyone besides Him.
72:19 (It has been revealed to me that) When the servant of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (calling his Lord) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation).
PROPHET MUHAMMAD IS JUST A WARNER
72:20 Say, [O Muhammad], "I only invoke (call) my Lord and do not associate with Him anyone."
72:21 Say: "It is not in my power to cause you harm, or to bring you to the Right Path."
72:22 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "None can protect me from Allah's punishment (if I were to disobey Him), nor should I find refuge except in Him.
72:23 My duty is˺ only to convey ˹the truth˺ from Allah and ˹deliver˺ His messages.” And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger will certainly be in the Fire of Hell, to stay there forever and ever.
72:24 Till, when they see that which they are promised, then they will know whose helpers are weaker and fewer in number.
72:25 (Muhammad), say, "I do not know whether that with which you have been threatened is close by or whether my Lord will prolong the time of its coming.
72:26 He knows the unseen and He does not allow anyone to know His secrets.
72:27 Except messengers of His choice. Then He appoints angel-guards before and behind them.
72:28 To ensure that the messengers fully deliver the messages of their Lord—though He ˹already˺ knows all about them, and keeps account of everything.”
