SURAH AL-MURSALAT

Those Sent Forth

(Maccie, Surah # 77, Verses 50 )

77:1 By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another.

77:2 And by the winds that blow violently,

77:3  And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain;

77:4 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong.

77:5 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers,

77:6 Ending excuses and giving Warnings.

JUDGMENT DAY

77:7 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

77:8 So when the stars lose their lights;

77:9 and the sky is torn apart (when heaven is opened)

77:10 And when the mountains are blown away;

77:11 And the messengers’ time ˹to testify˺ comes up

77:12 For what Day are these signs postponed?

77:13 For the Day of Judgment.

77:14 And what will make you realize what the Day of Judgment is?

77:15 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

EARLIER NATIONS WERE DESTROYED

77:16 Did We not destroy earlier disbelievers?

77:17 And We will make the later disbelievers follow them.

77:18 This is how We deal with the Mujrimun.

77:19 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

CREATION OF A MAN

77:20 Did We not create you from worthless water (semen, etc.)?

77:21 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb),

77:22 for an appointed time?

77:23 We ˹perfectly˺ ordained ˹its development˺. How excellent are We in doing so!

77:24 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

CREATION OF EARTH

77:25 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place

77:26 for the living and the dead,

77:27 and placed upon it towering, firm mountains, and given you fresh water to drink?

77:28 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

HELL FIRE

77:29 The disbelievers will be told,˺ “Proceed into that ˹Fire˺ which you used to deny!

77:30 Proceed into the shade ˹of smoke˺ which rises in three columns,

77:31 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames.

77:32 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

77:33 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)."

77:34 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

DISBELIEVERS CANNOT SPEAK

77:35 On that Day they will not ˹be in a position to˺ speak,

77:36 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

77:37 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

77:38 ˹They will be told by Allah,˺ “This is the Day of ˹Final˺ Decision: We have gathered you along with earlier disbelievers ˹for punishment˺.

77:39 So if you have a scheme ˹to save yourselves˺, then use it against Me.”

77:40 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

PARADISE

77:41 Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

77:42 and any fruit they desire.

77:43 ˹They will be told,˺ “Eat and drink happily for what you used to do.”

77:44 Surely this is how We reward the good-doers (Muhsinun)

77:45 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

DISBELIEVERS CANNOT BOW DOWN

77:46 (O you disbelievers)! Eat and enjoy yourselves (in this worldly life) for a little while. Verily, you are the Mujrimun.

77:47 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

77:48 When it is said to them, “Bow down ˹before Allah,” they do not bow.

77:49 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected Allah's revelations!

77:50 Then in what message after this (the Quran) will they believe?
