PROPHET HUD (PEOPLE OF AD)
The people of 'Ad were physically well-built and renowned for their craftsmanship especially in the construction of tall buildings with lofty towers. They were outstanding among all the nations in power and wealth, which, unfortunately, made them arrogant. They refused to worship Allah alone. They worshiped other gods, also, including idols. Allah sent Prophet Hud to this nation. He was a 5th generation of Prophet Noah. He was from a tribe called 'Ad.
7:65 And to the people of ’Âd We sent their brother Hûd. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah—you have no other god except Him. Will you not then fear Him?”
7:66 The leaders of those who disbelieved among his people said: "Verily, we see you in foolishness, and verily, we think you are one of the liars."
7:67 Hûd replied, “O my people! I am no fool! But I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds,
7:68 "I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser for you.
7:69 "Do you wonder that there has come to you a Reminder from your Lord through a man from amongst you that he may warn you? And remember that He made you successors after the people of Nuh, and increased you amply in stature. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, so that you may be successful."
7:70 They said: "You have come to us that we should worship Allah Alone and abandon that which our fathers used to worship. So bring us that wherewith you have threatened us if what you say is true"
7:71(Hud) said: "Torment and wrath have already fallen on you from your Lord. Dispute you with me over names which you have named - you and your fathers, with no authority from Allah? Then wait, I am with you among those who wait."
7:72 So We saved him and those who were with him by a Mercy from Us, and We cut the roots of those who belied Our Ayat, and they were not believers.

11:50And to the people of ’Âd We sent their brother Hûd. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. You do nothing but fabricate lies ˹against Allah˺.
11:51O my people! I do not ask you for any reward for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from the One Who created me. Will you not then understand?
11:52 And O my people! Seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will shower you with rain in abundance, and add strength to your strength. Do not sinfully turn away from Him.
11:53They argued, “O Hûd! You have not given us any clear proof, and we will never abandon our gods upon your word, nor will we believe in you.
11:54 All we can say is that some of our gods have possessed you with evil.” He said, “I call Allah to witness, and you too bear witness, that I ˹totally˺ reject whatever you associate
11:55 Other than Him. So plot against me all together; without delay!
11:56 I have put my trust in Allah—my Lord and your Lord. There is no living creature that is not completely under His control.Surely my Lord is on a straight path.
11:57 "So if you turn away, then verily, I have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will replace you with others, and you will not harm Him at all. Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things."
11:58 And when Our Commandment came, We saved Hud and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us, and We saved them from a severe torment.
11:59 And that was 'Ad (people). They rejected the Ayat of their Lord and disobeyed His Messengers, and followed the command of every proud obstinate (oppressor of the truth).
11:60 And they were followed by a curse in this world and (so they will be) on the Day of Resurrection. No doubt! Verily, 'Ad disbelieved in their Lord. So away with 'Ad, the people of Hud.
SURAH ASH-SHU'ARA'
123. ‘Ad (people) belied the Messengers.
124. When their brother Hud said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?
125. “Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
126. “So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
127. “No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).
128. “Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them?
129. “And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever.
130. “And when you seize, seize you as tyrants?
131. “So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
132. “And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know.
133. “He has aided you with cattle and children.
134. “And gardens and springs.
135. “Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day.”
136. They said: “It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach.
137. “This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients,
138. “And we are not going to be punished.”
139. So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
SURAH FUSSILAT
15. As for ‘Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: “Who is mightier than us in strength?” See they not that Allah, Who created them was mightier in strength than them. And they used to deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.)!
16. So We sent upon them furious wind in days of evil omen (for them) that We might give them a taste of disgracing torment in this present worldly life, but surely the torment of the Hereafter will be more disgracing, and they will never be helped.
SURAH AL-AHQAF
21. And remember (Hud) the brother of ‘Ad, when he warned his people in Al-Ahqaf (the curved sand-hills in the southern part of Arabian Peninsula). And surely, there have passed away warners before him and after him (saying): “Worship none but Allah; truly, I fear for you the torment of a mighty Day.”
22. They said: “Have you come to turn us away from our aliha (gods)? Then bring us that with which you threaten us, if you are one of the truthful!”
23. He said: “The knowledge (of the time of its coming) is with Allah only, and I convey to you that wherewith I have been sent, but I see that you are a people given to ignorance!”
24. Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: “This is a cloud bringing us rain!” Nay, but it is that (torment) which you were asking to be hastened! a wind wherein is a painful torment!
25. Destroying everything by the Command of its Lord! So they became such that nothing could be seen except their dwellings! Thus do We recompense the people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, etc.)!
26. And indeed We had firmly established them with that wherewith We have not established you (O Quraish)! And We had assigned them the (faculties of) hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts, but their hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and their hearts availed them nothing since they used to deny the Ayat (Allah’s Prophets and their Prophethood, proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, and they were completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!
SURAH ADH-DHARIYAT
41. And in ‘Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind;
42. It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins.
SURAH AL-QAMAR
18. ‘Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hud), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
19. Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.
20. Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.
21. Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
SURAH AL-HAQQAH
6. And as for ‘Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind;
7. Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms!
8. Do you see any remnants of them?
